Turbine mixers are used in a wide spectrum of applications including simple blending as well as viscous blending. They are well suited for applications which are controlled by tank circulation such as solids suspension and heat transfer. They are frequently used in applications requiring fluid shear and mass transfer, for example: gas absorption, dissolution, crystallization and various reactions.

Mixer Drives

MixMor offers four series of mixer drives ranging from 1/3 to 100 horsepower including worm gear, combination helical/worm gear, combination helical/spiral bevel gear and all helical gear reduction units. This selection enables MixMor to recommend the mixer best suited for your application.

Drive Series G

The G series is a low horsepower mixer drive which provides a practical solution for applications that for process or mechanical considerations preclude the use of fixed mount top entering mixers, yet do not justify the use of larger turbine mixers. Single reduction worm gear reducers are grease lubricated for life and use standard C face motors.

Horsepower Range: 1/3 to 5
Speed Range: 29 to 350 rpm
Reduction Type: Worm Gear

Drive Series N

The N series offers a mid range drive which features a double reduction, all helical gear reducer. Low speed shaft is provided with drywell construction and cast iron housings are horizontally split to eliminate the possibility of lubricant leakage. NEMA C face motors are directly coupled to the reducer by a flexible coupling.

Horsepower Range: 1 to 25
Speed Range: 37 to 155 rpm
Reduction Type: All Helical

Drive Series J &K

The J & K series utilizes a double reduction helical/worm gear or single reduction worm gear reducer to provide a rugged, reliable drive with high shock load capacity for years of trouble-free service in the most challenging applications. Housings are close-grained cast iron with oversized output shafts for high torsional and bending stresses and includes drywell construction. Foot mounted or C face motors are used.

Horsepower Range: 1 to 50
Speed Range: 25 to 175 rpm
Reduction Type: Helical/Worm
or Worm

Drive Series M

The M series is a heavy duty all inclusive drive for applications requiring up to 100 horsepower. The drive uses a double of triple reduction combination helical/spiral bevel gear reducer. The low speed shaft has dry well construction to eliminate the possibility of lubricant leakage. Housings are made of fabricated steel and include easy gear ratio change capability. Foot mounted or C face motors are flexibly coupled to the reducer.

Horsepower Range: 3 to 100
Speed Range: 25 to 155 rpm
Reduction Type: Helical/
Spiral Bevel

IMPELLERS

Mixing applications have different process requirements and that is why MixMor's engineers have such a complete selection of impellers ranging from the time proven, conventional pitched blade turbine to the state-of-the-art FloMor high-efficiency hydrofoil impeller. MixMor has the optimum impeller for your application.

  • FloMor - FM3, FM4, FM4W
The FloMor is a true axial flow hydrofoil impeller producing one of the most efficient flow patterns with low power consumption and shear. Available in three, four and wide blade designs for applications up to 50,000 centipoise.
  • Curved Blade Turbine - CBT4
The curved blade turbine impeller produces a radial flow pattern with less shear and power consumption than a vertical flat blade turbine. It is used in applications such as heat transfer, high solids contents or low liquid levels.
  • Vertical Flat Blade Turbine - VFBT4, VFBT6
The vertical flat blade impeller is a radial flow design used widely in low liquid levels or high shear applications with high power consumption that axial flow impellers. Four and six blade designs are available.
  • Pitched Blade Turbine - PBT3, PBT4
This impeller produces an axial flow pattern with a balance of shear and pumping when viscosities, liquid levels and impeller size preclude the use of foils. It can be the most cost effective impeller for many applications. Design incorporate three and four blades at 45° or 30° pitch.
